MEERUT: A Bulandshahr court on Monday awarded death sentence to four persons, including a woman, for murdering six members of their family two years ago. The incident had taken place at village Pilakhna of Narora area in Bulandshahr district on January 23, 2014. Giving information, public prosecutor Navneet Sharma said, “Additional district judge Sunil Kumar awarded the sentence to four persons for brutally hacking to death six members of their family two years ago.”

As per the police report, on the night of January 23, 2014, Maumeen Khan with the help of his wife and two relatives, brutally hacked to death his own father, mother, brother, niece and others with a sickle. For two years, the case went on in the special gangster fast track court. Following his arrest, Maumeen, 30, confessed to have killed members of his family. Maumeen had stated that despite being the owner of a brick kiln, his father Mausam Khan, 60, did not support him financially, making it difficult for him to support his four children.

Maumeen further stated that whenever he sought money, he was reprimanded in front of his other brothers. He said he was left with no option but to work as a labourer in someone else’s field. Maumeen confessed that he along with his accomplices first eliminated his elder brother Shaukeen Khan and his wife. However, Mausam arrived at the scene and Maumeen in a fit of rage, attacked his parents too. In this mindless killing, only one son of Mausam could save himself and his wife by shutting themselves in a room.
